Intro

The development of paving stones and segmental walls have their origin in early history. Pavestone Company's products are simply a refined version of various types of segmental paving and wall units that have dominated the world's urban construction since the Middle Ages.

1. Modular concrete products are manufactured to specific standards under exacting conditions with specially designed equipment, in order to produce a uniform, quality product that can be installed in any applicable area requiring a paved surface.

2. By employing water reducing and cement dispensing chemical admixtures, efflorescence is mitigated as product quality and color are enhanced.

3. Due to their inherent design capabilities, modular concrete products can be said to have the advantages of both flexible and rigid structures. Because of the interlocking shapes, the units are joined together in such a way that the structure cannot be broken, and due to the composite construction of the individual units with the small joint spacings, the flexibility of the structure is increased.

4. Other than the purely technical advantages of modular concrete products, some of the most obvious advantages of modular concrete products are:

4.1 Durability. Small, individual units interlocking with one another are tolerant of horizontal and vertical movements of supportive soils. Sub-surface heaving and/or subsidence is easily repaired with little or no loss of modular concrete material. High product density and low product absorption of the material makes the product extremely durable under adverse environmental conditions.

4.2 Ease of application makes the product a natural for smaller projects as well as for complicated and large jobs. In areas of limited and light loading, a minimal sub-surface preparation is required and can be accomplished with common tools. The "zero cure time" makes applications viable for fast track considerations. Construction activities can be carried out with semi-skilled labor and minimal equipment requirements even on medium to small projects.

4.3 Practicality and economy are primary reasons to use modular concrete products. Because they are durable and flexible, the long range economy is apparent as a result of low or even no maintenance. Modular concrete structures installed over any utilities or services can be dis-assembled in order to make necessary repairs. After repairs are made, economy is achieved through re-use of dis-assembled materials and no visual sign of access remains.

4.4 Ecological benefits are obvious in a product that can be re-used with the creation of very little waste. Further, the inert properties of the material produce no pollutant run-off.
